Mr. Young and Mr. Rutkowski both have had their 9th grade classes create iMovie projects.
Mr. Young's 12th grade earth sciences classes finished the school year and their high school careers with iMovie projects on deadly volcanoes around the globe in history. Check them out below!
Mr. Young's 9th grade science classes have done 2 HUGE projects that include the tech tools Moodle, his own website,Garageband, iMovie, and Google Earth. The two projects the 9th grade classes completed were on extinct species and the latest, Superfund sites. The student presentations at the end of project involved the students locating the geographical location on Google Earth of their Superfund site, then embedding their video in a placemark to be shown to the class. Web 2.0 at it's best. Nice job Mr. Young!
Mr. Rutkowski's American Cultures class created a World War I iMovie from web-based images. Each student picked a topic of interest from WWI (i.e weapons, trench warfare, etc) and focused their image search accordingly. The students also included custom music created in Garageband, exported the music to iTunes and then placed the music in their iMovie. These projects came out with some genuine creativity. Nice work Mr. Rutkowski!
Here are only a few of the works completed by their students. If you're interested in seeing all of them, check out the link here.
