This tool could particularly be used for teachers. Teachers could use this tool to upload their word processing documents and post them on their website. There are multiple ways to post a document into a website like a Wiki, but this one gives the reader almost a live feed right to the document in Scribd......really cool.
As for students, they could post their work in the form that they published it via their word processor. Rather than copy and paste their work from a word document into their website, they could create an account, upload their work and publish it via the web. The live embed code allows the users website to link directly to specific documents they would like to highlight. I like this for student use. I have an English class that is typing papers in response to Huckleberry Fin. We were planning on copying and pasting their papers from GDs into their Wiki. We can now use Scribd to have a more unique look and feel.
