With funding from our technology department, state funding and stimulus funds from the federal government, our district was able to add 6 carts of 25 Macbooks and 27 teachers to the CFF initiative. Each teachers' room will be equipped with a SMART Board, projector and speakers as well as the teachers will have access to the carts of Macbooks for student use.
In my building, I will be working with 16 teachers and 4 carts of Macbooks. To go along with being selected as a CFF teacher, the technology department will equip each teacher with their own Macbook. In addition to this opportunity, I have developed and will conduct a professional development training for the new CFF teachers coming aboard. The file below is what I plan to use for the training. The training will be a 1/2 day session that covers the basic use of a Macbook, projection, speaker connection and the Snow Leopard operating system. As the trainings advance, I plan to go into more depth with additional applications offered by Apple. Below is a tutorial I created for iMovie.
